Acquisition of Assets from Reseller Datafont to accelerate channel development in Southern Europe/Latin America

US-headquartered Aleyant, an innovative leader in providing robust software services to the graphic communications industry at value-driven prices, today announced that it has opened an office in Europe and acquired certain assets from Spanish reseller Datafont to provide improved sales and support in Southern Europe and Latin America as well as to further build its reseller network. Datafont is a specialist in providing variable data printing and web-to-print solutions to the graphic arts marketplace.

“We have successfully been working with Datafont for some time,” said Greg Salzman, President of Aleyant. “By integrating Datafont’s staff and management into our organization, we can better serve Southern Europe and Latin America, including Mexico, where we already have a good base of customers and prospects. Datafont is a good cultural fit with Aleyant, and its sales and technical expertise, as well as its deep relationships, will help us extend our footprint in these regions, including through aggressive channel development.”
Datafont’s Jose Vte. Salas will continue to operate Datafont to support existing customers and also act as Managing Director of the Aleyant Europe office based in Spain. A significant portion of the expert Datafont staff will transition to Aleyant’s new Spanish operation.

“We are very excited to be a more integrated part of the Aleyant family,” Salas said. “Aleyant’s Pressero and eDocBuilder have been among our best-selling applications and became a significant source of our revenues at Datafont. We have worked well with the Aleyant team in building the current installed base and market awareness for these outstanding solutions. Under the new organizational structure with the Aleyant name, we will be even more focused on growing the Aleyant business in Spain and Latin America, for which we see a significant opportunity in those regions.”

Aleyant Pressero™ Web-to-Print

Pressero from Aleyant is an affordable and easy-to-use cloud-based B2B or B2C online storefront solution that can quickly and easily be customized to individual client needs. Because it is delivered as Software as a Service, it has a pay-as-you-go model that involves limited up-front costs. Pressero can be enhanced with the addition of Aleyant eDocBuilder™, a web-based variable data publishing system built specifically to easily integrate into Aleyant or third-party web-to-print or MIS solutions. It features advanced typography control, imposition, scripting support, PDF workflows, rapid template creation, Excel merge capabilities and more. The Aleyant Automated Workflow IntegratorTM (AWI) makes online operations as streamlined and affordable as possible, and AWI is a critical enabler for achieving this goal. Examples of applications for AWI’s rules-based approach include automating processes for file renaming for workflows that have strict file naming conventions, automatically unzipping zipped files, or sending files and metadata directly to a RIP for processing, eliminating multiple steps in the workflow. This type of automation can also be applied to digital workflows where there is no printed output.
